My wife and I recently returned from our summer motorcycle trip that transported us 11,600 miles through 20 states in 31 days. Although we experienced only a few hours of rain, we did experience light snow showers at 33 degrees at high altitudes. Temperatures in the valleys reached 102 degrees.
My wife created a blog of our travels. https://nomadmillers2.webs.com/apps/blog/ The pictures are fantastic, showcasing the beautiful scenery of the western states. You don't need to read the text, but I do recommend you skim through the pictures. It's easy to imagine yourself sitting in your motorcycle's saddle and experiencing the scenery for yourself.
On our way home, we were in Colorado and considered turning around. We thought about heading to the Pacific Coast Highway and extending our journey there. But the quantity of wildfires and poor air quality quickly cancelled those thoughts. To return home ahead of Hurricane Sally, I traveled 916 miles from eastern Texas on the last day.
We're already thinking of where we want to ride next year.
